Description
Join SJMA and Mountain Studies Institute to learn about forest ecology, watersheds, climate change, and the future of snowpack in the San Juans by digging snow pits an taking a winter interpretive hike. Hikes will start at 1 pm, ending at 3 pm, with the option to stay after to warm by a bonfire and sip on a hot beverage. Snowshoes will be provided if necessary. Participants should be prepared to hike up to 2 miles in the snow ar ~11,000 ft of elevation.
